Counting the Omer

This was a series of videos I made this year that combined writing and music making. Counting the Omer is an ancient Jewish tradition. It marks the period of time in farming between the first crop of barley and the first crop of wheat. In the land there is a transition from anxiety to hope, and the kabbalistic interpretation of these 49 days is one in which we self-reflect with a view of being ready and more available to the world. I loosely followed Karen Berg’s guide, based on the Sephirot, which serves as a map of all the qualities associated with seven parts of the tree of life (see my chart below that explains this)
