Doikayt Debut Album

I’m very excited to announce this new project…

From the Yiddish דאָיִקייט meaning ‘hereness’

In Summer 2024, seven Klezmorim got together to make an album.

Recorded live in one room, Doikayt’s debut album brings together some of the UK’s leading Klezmer musicians, all of whom are dedicated to the preservation and continuation of Eastern-European Jewish instrumental music. Taking their name from the long history of diasporic Jewish politics and culture: the concept of doikayt states that “wherever we live, that’s our homeland”. Through their music, community and activism, Doikayt stand in solidarity with Collective Liberation and the struggle for peoples everywhere to live in safety and peace.
